Opt out of Yellow Pages

http://www.yellowpagesgoesgreen.org/

I apologize for the lack of posting of late.  I fully intend to continue to use the blog as a communication tool for the Journey body.

This post is clearly related to our previous series on Is God Green?  Rachel and I commented just last month about what a waste it is to have the Yellow Pages dropped by our home.  We noticed that we were not the only ones that immediately took the delivery and deposited it directly to our recycle bin.

I don't know how accurate it is, but the link above offers a sign-up that will communicate with the distributors of both Yellow Pages and White Pages to stop the unsolicited delivery to your home.

In the age of Internet technology and GOOG-411, we are much more likely to look something up online than to thumb through a heavy book.

Nathan,

What the folks are doing at YellowPagesGoesGreen.org is fabulous and everyone that doesn’t want to receive the white and yellow books should definitely sign up and...help spread the word!

More than likely, that will NOT get you off the directory publisher’s distribution lists. You’ll need to call each of the publishers and ask to be removed from their lists. That’s the only way you can be sure it will happen. It doesn’t take long and is realtively painless.

I wrote a post about it here: http://yousnoozeyoulose.com/2008/08/11/yellow-pages-love-em-or-hate-em/
